‘Tigers’ to host ‘Mahan Sports Club’ event next month

The Tigers have been confirmed as the host of the 2018 Mahan Sports Clubs and Events event to be held at Harahan in the near future.

Tigers CEO K Vijayakumar said, “It is a huge honour to be invited by the organisers to take part in the event.

It is also an honour for us to have hosted such a prestigious event and have such a great team of athletes and coaches.”

Vijayakumara, who was born and raised in Kolkata, said he is very excited to take up the challenge.

“We have a very talented group of athletes who have been through a very difficult period in their life.

I am sure they will be very happy to take this journey to be part of the Mahan sports clubs and events.

We will work hard to ensure that the Maharajas and their sports teams have the best possible experience for all the students of the University of the Tigers,” he added.

The Tigers were a part of Mahan’s ‘Team India’ for the first two years of its existence, but they are now moving away from the association for the time being.

The Tiger Athletic Association (TAA), an organisation that was established by the Tigers in 2000, was renamed as the MSA in 2015, following the appointment of MAA president and managing director, Virender Sehwag.

The TAA is now comprised of six member-based athletic associations, including the Tigers, the All India Sports Federation (AISF), the All Indian Football Federation (AIFF), the National Sports Federation of India (NSF), and the National Olympic Sports Council (NOSC).

The MSA’s first sports event was held in the capital city of Kolkatta in 2002.

Since then, it has been held in Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Bengaluru and other cities.
