NFL to use indoor game courts for indoor games

GRAYSON, Ala.

(AP) The NFL announced Thursday that it will start using indoor games courts for outdoor games at its stadiums.

The league has used indoor courts for games since 1998, when the NFL expanded to nine teams.

The NFL announced it will use the indoor courts at stadiums to host outdoor games beginning in the 2019 season.

The goal is to keep the game as exciting as possible for fans, coaches and players.

The stadiums are equipped with an artificial turf field, which provides a level of protection for players, coaches, referees and fans.

The teams can use the artificial turf for up to eight days a week.
